On December
11, 2000, Carnegie Mellon University, NASA Ames Research
Center and 12 information technology companies will announce
the formation of a High Dependability Computing Consortium
(HDCC) and describe its mission to eliminate failures in
computing systems critical to the welfare of society. Hosting
the event are Dr. Jared L. Cohon, president, Carnegie
Mellon University, and Dr. Henry McDonald, Director,
NASA Ames Research Center.
